WordPress Rocks!

Having given up on the expense of maintaining an account for The Ten Thousand Year Blog (original URL) , and having expected great things of the TikiWiki blogging capability, which has yet to materialize, I decided to go hunting for either a Perl-based or a PHP-based blog authoring/publishing system that would be as close to Radio UserLand as I could get.

I tried Movable Type from Six Apart, but did not want to spend the time futzing around with Apache server settings on my otherwise most excellent and cost effective shared hosting service at Zettai.net.

Scouring the known SourceForge universe for “blog” software, I quickly encountered b2 (aka Cafelog.com), and its offshoot, WordPress. I am absolutely stunned and amazed at the simplicity, elegance and features of WordPress. So after several false starts, this will be the new blog (fingers crossed in futile superstitious gesture) for The Ten Thousand Year Blog. URLs to follow….
